Does have some cupping (see image) and does dip in thickness in some sections to 7/8". 

 

40 year old slabs that recently came in as a trade. Labeled as IPE but may also be a variety of other similar looking dense exotics such as Afromosia or Cumaru. Hard to know for sure. Very heavy and dense!
